The Other Side

Have you ever wondered why some parts on earth got to have most of the best things in life while on the otherhand didn't? Let me cite you some of these biases.

1. Some people, no matter how simple they earn for a living still get to drive their own BMW? While on the other side, people who worked til their last breath still get to feel then pang of hunger?

2 Some people are paid bigger because they talked well too much while others talked too much because they were underpaid.

3.Some people are born handsome/beautiful while on the other side, the opposite. They say physical appearance lies in the eyes of the beholder...f*** with that saying, that isn't consoling after all.

4. Some are born rich. Yes. SOME.

5. I am fat and others are way too thin. lol.

6. I am wasting my time writing this blog....while on the other side... _____________.

this blog is nonsense.

Don't even bother reading it again.

DOST-SEI Final Clearance

I finally got my DOST final clearance after 4 years of service. Yay!
For all DOST scholars who are planning to get the clearance...may this serve as your guide.

To get the letters [for Bureau of Immigration Commissioner and certification from the DOST regional director], you will need:

- photocopy of your Diploma
- photocopy of your TOR (transcript of records)
- letter of request address to the regional director
-Certificate/s of employment (CoEs)

I have my letter of request simple and short.

Engr. Rene Burt Llanto
Region 7 Director
Department of Science and Technology

Dear Sir:

I would like to request your good office for my final clearance.

Hoping for your kind consideration.

Thank you very much.

Respectfully yours,

Karen Celeste P. Roa
DOST 7 RA 7687 Scholar

I went to the DOST regional office and passed the requirements. The in-charge told me to be back after 1 week to get the clearance.

It is also advisable to call their office first to ask if the clearance is already available for pickup.

After a week, I called their office and my clearance is ready for pickup. Yey! :) I went right away to their office and the in-charge gave me the letters. I thought that's the end of it...but they told me that I still need to go to the Bureau of Immigration (BoI) in Intramuros, Manila to have my name lifted from their list for travel ban.

GAAAAAHHhhhhh!!

So I booked a flight and went to Intramuros. Good thing I have my friend, Audrey, to accompany me with this adventure..haha. We checked-in at White Knight Hotel Intramuros, the nearest, safest hotel we've searched via net.

From the hotel, we went directly to the BoI. There were a lot of people, mostly foreigners. I thought this clearance thing would take a while...but I was wrong. I went directly to Window # 12, gave the 2 letters, got a priority number, then waited for about 10 minutes...and ohlala!!!! I got the letters back, signed and stamped with "No Derogatory Records". I couldn't believe it at first (because as what I have read from other forums, they said it took them from half a day to 3 days). So I asked the personnel if I still have something to do after...and they said I just have to present the letters when I go abroad. Wuhoooo!!
